LOOK BACK! @ The 4th Annual Be The Change Toy Drive
2016 has been a up and down year. From great moments of triumph to local and global turmoil... It seems like everyone was going thru it in the last 365 days, but one thing remained consistent that makes the struggles a little more worth it, Our 4th Annual Be The Change Toy Drive was another success.
This year we were at the Salesian Family Youth Center on 4th Street in the heart of Boyle Heights, CA. and again we could count on support from our EOTR Family and Network along with the continued support from Mayor Garcetti ( @mayofla) and his office who donated dozens and dozens of toys.
Although this years show was simpler and modest in presentation, that didnt stop us from having an awesome night filled with Hip Hop and good vibes. Our mission remains to show that helping others and doing good in your community doesnt have to be WACK! We make it crack.
And to our surprise at the end of the night we were presented with a Certificate of Appreciate from the City and Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti! Appropriately dated in 2015! Not sure if its a typo or if someone forgot to see us last year LOL but either way the gesture is appreciated and we hope this certificate will allow us to access more of the cities resources that have been out of reach for too long!
On behalf of Mescal and all of East of the River Network we would like to THANK YOU, Boyle Heights, Los Angeles and the extended family around the world for supporting us in 2016!
