Viva Mescal is an American rapper, songwriter, audio engineer, graphic designer and entrepreneur. Born and raised in East Los Angeles, CA. he is the definition of a Hip Hop Renaissance Man who has literally started a Hip Hop movement in East LA.
As front man of the Hip Hop group East of the River (EOTR) he combines clever and fast paced rhymes with soulful Boom Bap production to voice his unique perspective of a Mexican- American growing up in Los Angeles. But don’t think of him as just another rap act, Viva Mescal is also an audio engineer who has recorded, mixed and mastered all of his own work since his first mixtape release in 2011. His Audio Engineering credits include Ill Camile, Illa J, Aspect One, Mad Macks and countless others from the LA Hip Hop scene. He is also an entrepreneur, who launched his own brand and Hip Hop Collective, East of the River Productions in 2013, his own studio, East of the River Studio which he manages and a local radio show, East of the River Radio (Every Friday 1-3pm on radioespacio.org) in 2017.
His work began to get more notice when he and his group EOTR were selected to the Paid Dues Festival 2017 in Los Angeles alongside acts like Ab-Soul, Lil Wayne & Ghostface Killah. Unfortunately the event was cancelled but the word was out and since the Paid Dues announcement Viva Mescal and EOTR have been growing and thriving. Recent bookings include, Murs at The Roxy in Hollywood, CA. (3/16/2018) and Comedian Felipe Esparza at the Novo in Los Angeles, CA. (3/23 & 3/24)
He is currently working on his second studio album set to be released in Summer 2018.
